danny bull 4
What's the best pellets to use for killing rabbits Quote Link to post
The one 8,479
What ever ones suit your gun the best , most pellets will kill a rabbit if the guy behind the trigger puts them in the right spot 1 Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
The most accurate pellet for your gun and that means doing a lot of testing with different pellets at different distances 2 Quote Link to post
Rimfireboy! 1,463
Round heads tend to be the best overall. Find the ones that you get the best accuracy with and aim between the eye and the ear for a clean kill. Good accuracy is vital for despatching rabbits with air guns. 2 Quote Link to post
John Stott 202
As the other fellows say. I do prefer a dome head. A few months back I got hold of some Ogive Defiants in .22. As they are nearly 18gn I only used them at about 35 to 40 yards. The odd time I have not hit the target area they have still killed. More of an air bullet really. I am going to try their .177 soon. Very promising. 1 Quote Link to post

Del1810 5
Crossman premier ultra magnums are decent out of my R10. They hit hard and very accurate. Dispatched dozens of bunnies with them Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
Any. As long you hit them in the right place. Questions like this. Tut. Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,553
Sounds like an innocent young lads question, we were all like this once. Which rifle are you shooting Danny and which calibre is it ? As i`m sure one of the lads on here will have your answer. atb (all the best) 1 Quote Link to post

As we all know what works superbly in one gun may well be absolute cack in another of the same make and calibre! Quote Link to post
mark williams 7,553
"Not an answer, suggestion" ! Does it matter ? I go to two ranges, each with several hundred members, if i asked any one of the members which gun do you shoot and which is your pellet choice, yes there will be different answers, of coarse but you would pick up very quickly on the guns usual preferred make of pellets, "would you not" ? So Danny. again, i`m sure you will get an answer (s) when the lads know your make of gun and calibre as these forums have hundreds of helpful members too. atb. 1 Quote Link to post
bugg 84
Im assuming he's asking wether domes hunters or wad cutters are prefered but ultimately comes back to what ever suits the gun and his intended range 1 Quote Link to post
Del1810 5
I've tried several brands and found the ultra mags the best in R10. Remingtons were good as well. AA field didn't work well in mine but they are very good in my mates. I like to think of guns like women somethings work better in some than others Quote Link to post
bugg 84
My r10 likes the aa fields the last one didn't like anything so bsa put a new barrel on it and I left it at the rfd enough was enough lol Quote Link to post
Zimpara 99
Haven't shot any bunnies. But up to the ranges us mere mortals shoot at. Anything is going to put a hole in a rabbit. The real question is what's the best way of getting that hole in a kill zone. From my limited experience. PS in my sub £200 rifle AA diabolo hunters (pointed) grouped the best out to 40m. After I spent £ and a week solid testing tins of JSB exact, RWS Superdome, AA diabolo field, AA diabolo field Heavy, accupels, etc. What ever let's you put the pellet on the target is the answer. 1 Quote Link to post
