secretagentmole 1,701
1 ) This is a Walther. 2 ) It has a Lothar Walther barrel. 3 ) It has a plastic trigger. 4 ) So do quite a few other guns. 5 ) Bolt operation is a bit sticky for the first 1000 or so shots. 6 ) They are accurate. 7 ) About 150 shots per fill in .22 8 ) Nice Minelli stock. 9 ) There are a lot of happy owners out there. 10) Should be chrono testing mine today! Coypu Hunter 486
I used to own a Umarex 850 AirMagnum, which uses the same action as the R8. It just used CO2 capsules rather than HPA, and had a synthetic stock. In .177 it was as accurate as any good PCP. Quote Link to post
mickmck 716
Well i picked up my new r8 today and up to now I'm happy with it . seems good little gun for the money . I asked for it to be chrono tested in the shop before I got it and these were the results Bisley mag 21 grain 10.97 11.83 11.40 11.01 10.92 11.03 11.17 Air arms 16 grain 11.10 11.09 11.24 11.16 11.06 Been testing it out up the back yard. At 10 metres and got grouping of a five pence Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Chrono tested mine. Crosman Premier 9.8 ft lb (14.3 grain), Range Master Sovereign 10.3 ft lb (15.9 grain), AA Diablo Field 10.54 ft lb (16 grain). Nowhere near the 16 joules promised in the manual. It has gone back! Grouping was good, power was bad! Best was 14.3, worst was 13.3 joules! Edited January 10, 2015 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post
