socks 32,253
Tape a bit of hose pipe to,the end then you can pour in some wound powder to help it heal ..... Quote Link to post
sandymere 8,263
I've used hose pipe taped on but needed to muzzle the dog to stop it pulling it off, some are worse than others. The only problem was once off it started again so I ended up lining the kennel entrance area, where he stood wagging against the wall etc, with the solid foam insulationthats used in lofts, and that pretty much had it sorted. If there’s a lot of old scaring the hair may never regrow properly. 1 Quote Link to post

lurchers 2,820
If its old scareing then it wont grow back,so it might be a trip to the vets mate to get an inch or so took off.or you might just have to live with it if you dont. Quote Link to post

jukel123 8,056
I've heard it called 'happy tail' for obvious reasons. You should consider yourself lucky you've got yours kennelled, I had one with this problem and it had always been a house dog. Every time it got excited, as in going for a walk, it would smear blood all over the kitchen, on folks' clothes, even on the kids' faces. It was too old to suddenly kennel. It would have screamed the neighbourhood down, so I had to do a lot of cleaning and a lot of cosying up to the mrs believe me. I've heard olive oil may help to soften the skin and help hair to grow back, but to be honest , in my experience,it's something that keeps coming back no matter what you try.
