the big chief 3,099
The good thing with deerhoudxgreyhounds is the way they suss the job out as they are fast acting in brains when they take the leading roll,as if they know where there quarry is going to head to before they do.a lot of people underestamate them but dont relelise the prey drive they do have and the things they are capable of doing for a dig dog. totaly agree with you mate Quote Link to post
dai dogs 1,630
Deerhound xs are underestimated maybe down to people not waiting for them to mature. Going back a few years My son forgot to lock the kennels after feeding time. A very dominant 5/8th 3/8th Bull x got into my Deerhound bull x dog Cut a long story short the Deerhound bull x was up and about the next day The dominant dog was layed up for quite some time. morton 5,368
Deerhoundy lurchers versus Bull bred types is nonsense, they are two different animals and work as such, slip the average bull cross on a long gallop, especially on testing terrain and it comes second to often, expect a Deerhoundy to take the same punishment as a Bull cross and much of the time the dog will be found wanting.Ive owned and seen many a proper Bull type lurcher in the field, ive owned many a Deerhoundy,id never own another Bull cross, they are not suited to my hunting lifestyle, the Deerhoundy is.Its not a competition or a dick measuring contest with different types, each individual will have a different hunting lifestyle and will source a dog to suit, some of these lifestyles cross at times, thats why there is such a multitude of types and breeds to choose from. 1 Quote Link to post
