Annoying Mooch

hiya lads, Went out for a little walk with the S410 earlier after 3 bunnies for some bunny burgers i want to try out.

Im sure somebody must be hammering the lamping on the same fields as me because as soon as the gun lamp went on, the rabbits were bomb-bursting all over the place.

The weather was unforgiving; wet, windy and raining, Not ideal for the .177 cal.

Ended up bagging a doe from about 15-20 feet which was not an easy shot in the conditions. That was it for the first permission.

 

I hopped in the landy and headed off to my next permission after another two bunnies. Arriving at the new permission I got the gun out the boot and changed the lamp batteries in the Tracer. Gave it a little test and wouldn't you know it.......... the lamp's f d!!

Turns out that every time I've changed the batteries over the months I've been unknowingly twisting the cables until they eventually broke.

So I've driven home to put my spare press button on the back of the lamp, which is annoying because i like the switch on the stock, I've ended up drinking to much whiskey to shoot straight so i'll be back for my two bunnies tomorrow night.

I think in that weather , the whiskey sounded the better option !

I had a similar incident, I went to a perm about 30min drive. Set up my ns50 to find the battery was dead. I left it plugged into the camera unit. So off home I went and got drunk instead.

You no its bad when you set off to your perm only to get half way there and find that you have left the rifle at home :icon_redface:

 

But that has never happened to me :whistling:

Excactly the same thing happened to me with my COBRA TRACKER PRO night vision spotter, im having a right nightmare try to find out where the wires went, its a shame really cos these are the best gen 1 you can get
