toxo 160
I think I just need clarification but I could be wrong. My garden is about 24yds long Win subs @ 1065MV with a BC of 0.138. If I zero at 22yds, is it the same as zeroing at 50yds? According to Chairgun that's the two points of impact unless I've ballsed it up. Quote Link to post
rodp 316
Probably going to be close enough to get out and zero properly at 50. . . . Which you were going to do, were you not ??? Edited December 20, 2014 by rodp Quote Link to post
toxo 160
Of course Rod. Actually went out to do it yesterday but other stuff got in the way and ended up losing the light and I'm not sure if my sidewinder is playing up or not so want to get it as good as I can before I go again. toxo 160
That muzzle velocity was from the tin. All I've got is a Combro4 are they any good with rimfire speeds? I guess I'll soon find out. Quote Link to post

You need to get out and zero at 50 yards (or wherever you want), then go back to your garden (or wherever) and check/note the first zero point. That is the only way to do it accurately, all the ballistic tables are simply guides, some are better than others, but none can do what your specific gun can. They commonly take no account of barrel condition/length/cleanliness/moderator/scope size/mount height/etc. Quote Link to post
Matthew Phillips 36
I wouldn't be shooting a 22lr in your garden if it's only 24yards long. You got an open ticket? Quote Link to post
Rikweller 14
Don't think my neighbours would take kindly to me shooting my rimfire in the back garden either and mines out in the sticks lol. Plus being a closed ticket I'm sure I would be breaching the license that way lol Quote Link to post
toxo 160
It was a hypothetical question Happy new year everyone. Quote Link to post

I deal with a lot of foxes in pocket handkerchief back gardens, often much less than 24 yards, neighbours will next to never hear a .22lr moderated sub, but I also use HMR, and very occasionally WMR in these situations as well, a one off crack is also usually dismissed or simply not heard. That of course is not a zeroing session, which will commonly involve several cracks! ATB! Quote Link to post
