nasher1 258
I went out today for a field test with my Xmas 10/22 I have heard some stories of these guns being not very accurate i might add that a friend of mine has one and his has always been very good.I set up a target at 25 yards just to get started. i loaded up with rws subs and started, five shots all through the same hole three inches high and to the left. I moved out to 50 yards and after some adjustment I was getting sub half inch groups with the odd flyer down to pilot error you could say I was very happy with the result i did try some cci mini mags but they shot high with a vauge 5 inch pattern. Also when the farmer turned up and wanted a go i had used up all my subsonics and the mini mags would not cycle at all. Quote Link to post
Matthew Phillips 36
My 10/22T works great with Remington Subsonics, at £7 a box of 100 I'm pleased :-) Eley shot well but were CRAP in the action, they are covered in junk and just make a sticky mess. My only problem is my remington 597 22wmr doesn't shoot like the 10/22 in 22lr :-( Quote Link to post
nasher1 258
What's the problem with the 597 is it accuracy Quote Link to post
Matthew Phillips 36
Yeah. My 597 is pants. Tried loads of ammo types, changed mounts and scopes, cleaned, not cleaned, still only 3inch at 100yards Quote Link to post
nasher1 258
I nearly bought one there was a laminate stock version in the gun shop for a very good price glad I didn't now. As a afterthought you aren't firing loads of continuous rounds through it are you the barrel will over heat i have did this with a Hmr with a similar results. Atb Roy Quote Link to post
TheRealChuckNorris 42
Down the range my 10/22 loves RWS Semi-Auto ammo. Haven't had a feed issue with these well lubed rounds. Out in the field the Eley subs seem hard to beat in the Ruger or my CZ455. Must say that the Ruger hasn't been out in a while (since the CZ arrived) and I don't think that will change thanks to the difference in accuracy Quote Link to post
