Rez 4,961
Just thought I'd say that a well tuned HW97 in .22 is the fecking bomb lads, yes in .22. Those with such set ups will know this... Mine today. My god. Dunno why but it felt so buttery smooth... like it would hold its own on the HFT course... I know it wouldn't, but just felt like it would If anyone asks "What these are like...? Are these any good...? Are they accurate?" They need a 'premonitional' slap That is all HW97 @ .22 As an edit. I stripped and re polished it all insides the other week and it might just of bedded in for good. Crono'd at 10.8. 4 Quote Link to post
bigmac 97kt 13,807
Every one that has a go of mine dose not want to give it back i let an old guy use it at the range one day and he used it nearly all day and he had two 97,s with him lol Even marksman could not bi-leave how good it was and he tuned and polished it for me and he did not want to give it back Its so smooth, next to no recoil and even when you cock it its silent until the click at the end when it locks into place but its fitted with welsh willy trigger, full v mach kit, and v,mach match safety switch and tuned and polished with in an inch of its life and after all of this I FECKING SOLD IT :cray: But im in negotiations at the moment to get her back as we talk she lives at mine most of the time any way so i may as well have her back i get all of my springers tuned and polished any way as they shoot much better atvbmac  1 Quote Link to post

pianoman 3,587
It's still the HW77 .22 for me as I'm a big lad and I like the full length and heft. But my HW97K .177 is a perfect second gun to it (just like yours in the top pics Mac!). Both are polished and tuned to perfection and are as accurate as it's possible to get. Really don't need any more than these two for the absolute pleasure they give on a good day out in the fields and woods. I wouldn't take a PCP over either of these spring rifles under any circumstances! 6 Quote Link to post
villaman 9,983
I prefer my 97 .22 than my tuned 97.177 3 Quote Link to post

magnummike 39
The nicest shooting springer I own is a 77k in .22 Its had a polish and relube , but the thing that makes the most diference is the 25mm internals less mass than the more modern rifles with 26mm internals so less recoil . I have also got a .177 77k with 25mm piston and comp tube that is very accurate but does not shoot as nice as the .22 ATB Mike Edited December 23, 2014 by magnummike 2 Quote Link to post

Well Rez, a genuine one hole, sub 5p group at 35 metres (not yards) from a '77 .22 underlever spring rifle, or a sub 5p group at 40 metres with a .177 HW97K is still a one hole group that will enable you to knock down a rabbit to some decent ranges. After my experience of £800 quid Daystate Regals needing power tuning-up, general fit-repairs and services out of the box, I'm remaining firmly in my cups as a devoted HW spring spring man. I never had any trouble with my HW springers. So yes, they will; do exactly the same job. Just not so expensively! Seriously Rez, you cannot go wrong with an HW77 .22. mate. They are so accurate you wonder sometimes what the hell you have in your hands, or why you have other guns! Simon 3 Quote Link to post
Rez 4,961
Might get myself a 77 in the lami dress. It would be hard, however, to justify to the mrs why I'm getting what is perhaps a very similar set up to something I already own, the 97. I feel in the mood for another boin'ger to be honest and will be on the look out in the spring, no pun intended, but something has come to my attention of late and it's impact airguns RM100 Evo re vamp... I noticed the rifle on the cover of the latest, but now epically shit (in terms of layout, grammar, punctuation, spellings), air gunner magazine in tesco and it's seems to be something to look at. Not sure I'll get on with a gas ram system mind, could be a bit to 'snappy'. Thoughts? 1 Quote Link to post

Hi Rez Ive also got a 77kle with the green gey and brown laminate stock in .177 and has a stage 2 tune from SFS it shoots nice and is very accurate and would recomend one . A couple of weeks ago I got a n LGV Challenger that shot nice , I put it on the chrono and it was doing 13ftlbs so appart it came and I removed all the crap inside degreased and relubed . After it was back together it was shooting very very nice at 11,3ftlbs . I then tried it with a Weihrauch silencer and I could not believe how quiet it was . On the range it shot spot on , I have decided to sell the LGV and get a LGU as the Walthers have impressed me so much with the quality of the internals and they are dead easy to strip and I prefer UL rifles . Think they do need a strip and relube though dont know what Walther put in them but it looked like crap , have a look at one of these to ATB mike Edited December 23, 2014 by magnummike 2 Quote Link to post
