Mink seems to be the likely culprit it , there's a river not to far , now would a mink be able to drag a hen a hundred metres hardly dropping a feather ?

A mink will drag its catch all the way to where it lives and they sometimes store it in there burrow with there other kills and eat it later if foods there they will kill it and take it or they kill it and come back for it later

Spot on seems its a small vixen a friend havin a walk with his gun seen it the other morning , it spotted him went through a gap in a chainlink fence you wouldn't of thought it would get through it's that small but he assures me that's where it went .
