Pup Soiling Kennel

Recommended Posts

Any advice on stoping a pup from shitting and pissing in kennel ? Tried making the kennle smaller as so she has enought room to move around and get comfy but small enought to discourage her from shitting and pissing but it isn't working. She's messed in kennel now every single day since I've had her and changing bedding every morning is starting to piss me off plus the fact she lies down in it after .....she seems to only be doing at night.i work noons / night so taking her for a late at night is out of the question. .......any advice on how to stop this ? Cheers

Bring her in the house and house train her you tight b*****d.

If I was a pup in a kennel on my own then I would play a game of "let's make some mess for that Tosser who comes up here every few days".

feck putting in house got enought with missus and kids in house. I wish I could kennle them too

Sounds like the pup is nevous as hell of the big bad world and leaving the warmth and protection of its siblings and mother. Too timid and probably to cold leave the kennel to crap. Is it kenneled next to others, would they be growling it back?

It will probably stop once it realises its ok but as annoying as it is, you got to feel a bit sorry for winter puppys.

In my mind you have two choices, either bring it in and cage it for a few weeks or let the poor bugger tough it out and if you do the latter, make damn sure its real cosy in that kennel and you give it plenty of time when your home.

Age old answer "let it out more" simples.

Crate training is also the answer, but you need to give it more time. Time that you don't have it sounds like.

let it out more??????? It lives out in a kennle and has a 6 f square run the dog is the size of a small terrier so how is letting it out more going help. I work nights so not like I can come home to kik the dog out its kennle to make it shit and piss out side lol

My dogs come out the kennel at least a couple of times a day. I never clean a poo or a piss out of the kennel. Dogs are mostly naturally clean, even my pups that I am running on will piss and shit away from the kennel/run and they are only 17 weeks. All of them are house trained and they live outside.

What I'm saying is if a dog is given an option it will be clean.
