Hw100 Or S410?

Recommended Posts

Hi

Just getting back into shooting and want a multi shot. I've been advised by a mate at work that either a S410 or a HW100 would be ideal - but wanted to know what the guy's on here thought? Just put off a little by the £ of the HW100!

Will be using for targets & pest control!

Any help will be appreciated

Both are superb, but if you want a rifle that is extremely easy to strip/tune, then the AA410 is much simpler to work on

in fact if you like the thought of a side lever cocking action then have a look at the AA 510 model another advantage of the AA rifles is the weight, believe me, there is no joy in toting a heavy gun around.

i think you got enough responses pal but just to add my 2 cents. Have a feel of both and choose what feels best as both guns will out shoot the shooter

personally the hw 100 was a bit heavy for me but then im not exactly a big lad lol but as stated above its an absolute dream to shoot the s410 was alot more comfortable in my arms and also as sweet to shoot!!!! so my advice is simple GET BOTH one in 2.2 one in 1.77 hahahahaha good luck with the decision pal let us know what you get atb craig HAPPY HUNTING!!!

S410. Reliable, lightweight, bolt action, deadly accurate. Biased? Yes, use one daily in .22 for rabbits. Very good to 40 / 45 yards. Supa Lite model carbine for all day lugging. Price is excellent as well, good shot count.

I like the German, might even get one, but it is heavy. The lever action is good, but then so is the S510.

Working on the AA is a dream, spares are cheap, if you need them.

Throw on a Rowan bolt handle and trigger and its good for HFT. The Rowan parts improve it a lot.

Honestly though, mine has a Hawke 3.9 x 50 IR on it and I can pop an egg off a fence post at sixty yards first shot. Thats actually how I zero it after a knock or working on it.

I like sporter stocks too. Can't get on with those thumbhole ones.

Also the Ultra is worth looking at. I use one for pigeon and ratting in .177.

IMHO - HW100 all the way. I've had both. When I think HW100 it always reminds me of the old VW advert on the TV when the guy closes the door. Solid!

Extremely reliable and also superbly accurate. Just make sure that you can handle the weight before you buy. It's a hefty lump, if you plan on lugging it around for a few hours, then don't be surprised if you won't be able to lift a mug of tea when you get home. :cray:
