Mole Trapping

Recommended Posts

Why are you so desperate for this farmer to allow you on?

There must be loads of farmers only to willing for help, mention the farmer who alllows you, to other farms and that should be enough of a recommendation.

Funny really, I charge farmers for rabbit/mole control clearance

Because they have a lot of good land, nice flat fields tidy hedgerows, ATM I can do a couple of fields then stop at the fences, with there permission I could go for miles around.

They don't like people on there land lots of break ins n dead sheep, understandable really.

I work full time no need for me to charge plenary other people will do it for free or pay so why make it harder for myself to get more permission ?

ask yourself, if you didn't have this permission, how much would you need to pay to shoot

mole traps can cost as little as £5, you'll probably want someone to teach you how to catch moles for free too wont ya

lol wouldn't cost me nout to shoot I ferret it and will never pay for permission of any kind! 1 trap costs a fiver 20 traps will cost me 100 quid I can better spend pal and u shouldn't be doing any hunting if you can't set a mole trap

yet another pearl of wisdom prized from the mind of a fine ambassador or the sport

No doubt deker professionals will do it much better than an armature like myself but I'm just trying to help the land owner out and earn some browny points, I don't know how much it costs to have a professional do the job but I'm guessing it would be cheaper if I done it then if they get moles again later on the traps are there ?

I think you have misunderstood my post.

If mole trapping was as simple as spending £15-£20 on a few traps how do you think professionals would ever make a living?

You will not help the landowner or win any brownie points if you are there day after day catching nothing and simply making his moles more trap shy. I have seen it time and time again, my husband tried for weeks, our gardener had a go, the neighbour up the road tried, my mate told me how to do it, etc, etc,...... then they called a professional, who had a right job and charged more because amateurs had made their task a lot harder.

We all have to start somewhere, but I strongly suggest you get some training/experience before you tell the landowner you are a mole trapper.

ATB!

I see were ur coming from like, lol I wouldn't be telling anyone I'm a mole trapper though......because I'm not I'm a gas fitter that likes to work my dogs n ferrets trying to keep gain abit more land to hunt on and keep the current ones happy :-). I best get on YouTube ;-).

What would you have to say to somebody, with no experience or training, that turned up without any tools, then asked the customer to supply them, then attempted to repair a Gas boiler?.

Just buy a couple of decent traps (flatpack) or (Talpex) get them in the ground,if mole trapping is in your blood you`ll stick with it and work out what the moles life pattern is, and how the traps need to be placed, its all trial an error and pure joy when you master it.

Also there is a very good dvd you can get from Fourteenacre for £15 you need to watch . Good luck matey.

Hey Deker - just had a look at your website looks good/professional but why don`t you have a landline number, would not use a website with just a mobile number, your not traceable, just saying

Fair comment, but I have not had a landline for business or at home for about the last 12 years.

Mobiles are easy, and despite odd problem reception areas, you can always answer them or return missed calls quickly. I don't have a receptionist and people are still reluctant to leave ansaphone messages.

Mate, you can get an 0800 number and have it redirected to your mobile; that's what I do. Costs you all of about £15 a month, if that. Hope that helps.
