Rats - Red Light?

Quick question, can rats see in the red light spectrum?

 

Has anyone tried this and if so, any success?

red always seems the best for me , but not to bright.

I don't know if they can see colours? But it's certainly the light they react to and not the colour.

I have tried all manner of different filters and colours.

Tried a red LED but after 10 mins they saw the light and ran away

I shoot a place regularly and after the second visit as soon as the red light hit them they were off and running ... So I now use a 410 they can run all they fukcing want they still get it ..........

Thanks guys. Not wasting my heard earned £5 on that red filter.

 

Because I'm working enclosed, the back-lit screen lights everything up and the rats can obviously see me. So I was thinking of using an alternative lighting system to my NV system. I guess red light's not the answer then :-(

 

Any suggestions?

So what you saying you are using a lamp or say an ns50/200 with the red ir.

Put a large sheet over your head and ns, just have the barrel poking out.You may look like a twat, but who cares if your killing them.
