pmatty77 26
I take my patt with me ferreting, they will mark the holes, every dog is different but they do have a high prey drive and will be on the go all the time, if I had one dog I would have a lurcher, bit more chilled, it works ok for me though if one bolts, the lurcher will catch it and then the patt will drag the rabbit and the lurcher back to me lol Quote Link to post
Jono_g 27
Hi all, just a little update, little Impi(pub) has been introduced to the ferrets for the last 4 days,he has been spot on to be honest which surprised me as I showed him a rabbit I got two weeks ago and his whole attitude changed,he wanted it. He is also really obedient and knows to fetch and will bring it to me when told. I've put lots of work in with him and lots of play as well which he knows are two different things. I know he hasn't been out yet and that will be the test but so far I'm made up. I'll be taking him out with me for some walks etc from tomorrow and see how we get on. All the best Jono Quote Link to post

Chicken_man 1,651
Lovely wee pup mate. I use a Border terrier for ferreting, also a Collie. I used a collie for 10 yrs, just lost her Christmas day. Her son is just as good though. The terrier is a good all rounder. Atb Edited January 10, 2015 by Chicken_man Quote Link to post
vizlauk 1,568
Great dogs for bushing and marking holes, I've got these 2, pure Patterdale bitch and Patterdale cross staff dog, the Patterdale cross staff is an excellent companion, he knows where the stuff I've shot is before me; best dog I've ever had, never worked them with ferrets but great on the rabbits 2 Quote Link to post
