Better off buying a pup or pups of someone you know and have seen the parents working, pups at a game fare let it be over there or here are a lottery, you take your chance and thats the end of it with no comeback.IMO you would be better off waiting until a litter you know something about comes along and then you can ask the breeder for a bit of history on the parents-grandparents,other litters from same mating and how they are doing, just dont jump in with both feet and regret it in a years time. 5 Quote Link to post
wirral countryman 2,110
I would never buy at a game fair, the welsh is not that big so I think you would be disappointed anyway, make your purchase to fit in with a visit to the midland or the cla where at least there is plenty to see,do your research and organise a decent pup from good working stock, WM 1 Quote Link to post
marshman 7,758
I've mixed feelings about buying a dog at a game fair . First of nowadays you'll probably get your pants pulled down for nice few quid. Although when I was younger I went to a show a got a little black pup he wasn't the best but gave he's all every time I went out . I learnt a lot from that little dog . I suppose if you see the sire and dam and they working mans money then it ain't a bad place to start if you don't know anyone. Good luck ! 1 Quote Link to post
