white van man 3,377
Just wandering if anyone has some decent advise. I have a 5 month old lurcher pup. Over the last couple of weeks he every now and then developes runny eyes (yellow greenish puss). This is mainly in the morning and isn't everyday. His eyes are also sometimes bloodshot with no puss. The vet suggested cold black tea but it's still happening. If it carries on I will see the vet again next week. He is fed on BARF and sleeps inside on vet bed and a old duvet. It doesn't bother him at all. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance. WVM
socks 32,253
The old duvet could be irritating his eyes ... Could be mild conjunctivitis ... Or dry eye ... Pretty simple for a decent vet to diagnose an eye problem ........
Dewclaw69 484
i've used cold tea on my dogs eyes over the years and it has worked. no harm in giving it a go until you get to a vet. i use vet bed for mine and it does attract shite and dust. get the vetbed in the washing machine. it'll dry in 10 minutes on low heat in a tumble drier. i have 3 bits and change em over regularly.

It comes and goes and tonight he looks fine. Was thinking it might be the bedding or even the washing powder.

Thanks robs. I wash the bedding and have 2 sets. Might change the powder for something not so strong. Vet will have a look if not on Monday. Thanks for the advice pal
chisler 90
Evening all, last Friday I noticed that my 6 month old pup Bryn had a bloodshot and snotty eye, I bathed it with cold black tea over the weekend and this morning it seemed better, however not for my little 6 yr old Jacko bitch Tilly, her one eye was really sore looking and red, so nipped them down the vets, he is a good chap, said the cold tea had helped Bryn, they have mild Conjunctivitis, he gave me some drops, 5 day treatment, better to be safe what say. regards Chisler
