No it is not legal to shoot them you could be fined £2000 per offence ! although they are feral and plentiful in certain areas they are still endangered in there home range. I have also had people suggest they can keep other Duck of a pond .

I know of a team of guns on a shoot that were working their way to a pond. The cry of 'wigeon' went up and a couple of mandarin came down.........cough cough .........I am told they taste ok......

Because its not yet recognised as breeding here regularly .The lake I fish has 4~5 pairs breed every year and noisy feckers too .Tree nesters .Crows have most of the ducklings though as they seem to spend lot of time out the water .Be indigenous soon.
