hob and hob or jill and jill what is best in a cage

i am looking for some more ferrets but i dont what is best i am only aloud 2 of the same sex so what is best 2 hobs or do they fight or 2 jills

ive been in the same situation<i foun that two hobbs would most probibly fight so i got two jills and they love each other,i didnt but it is best to get two sisters.

What ever you take on i would get them together , saves any problems later on if you come to introduce a second ferret in a few weeks

My first 2 ferrets when I was a youngster were a pair of hobs, one white and one polecat, Snowy and Baloo. They lived together for 12 years and the white one lived on another 2 years after that. Apart from some rough squabbles in the summertime and a few sore necks from being dragged about they were fine. They must have been content otherwise they wouldn't have lived so long I suppose.

 

That said, I wouldn't put 2 strange hobs together - that is inviting problems.

 

Jills live better together IMO and I would recommend a pair of those above a pair of hobs.

Cage environment 2 jills for me, Hobs in breeding season may get a bit aggitated towards each other,Hob & Jill unwanted hassle of kits,building extra cage to house her when giving birth unless Hobs had the snip

2 jills anyday, hobs sometimes seem to want to fight each other (the 3 i had did) jills just seem to get on with each other much better
