Garmin Etc. Dog Locators.

I'm interested in these but haven't a clue where to start looking. I'd like to hear from anyone with experience, what works well, what's legal, how much (roughly) it costs, how to make an illegal one legal (or will it work illegally?), can I buy one in Europe or do I have to ship one from the USA.

Basically anything useful anyone can tell me about them. I'm sure a few must be using them by now and it sounds like something that could be really useful to me.

The new one s won't work in uk mate s use them on the hounds if ye want I ll ask the mate tomorrow which one s work over here they get the from the U.S. they got the new one s set them up and they blocked straight away

That would be great nancy. I read somewhere that the new ones can be downgraded somehow and then they'll work.

Is Ireland the same as the UK in this then?

I've used Garmon fish finders and found the GPS to be very good, also bye them on- line (dog locator) from America and they work out nearly half price.

I've not got one but have had one used on my dog whilst out hunting..it was an unbelievable bit of equipment and without it there would 100% of been nothing "found" on the given day..I know it was a Garmin receiver & collar..im pretty sure they are quite expensive though?
