richie1984 191
Hi lads Ive noticed for about a week that my pups breath was stinking I thought it was just because of its diet.anyways the smell earlier made me heav so I had a look in its mouth and there was a piece of wood lodged in the roof I pulled it out it was covered in gunk and blood.now there's an open wound, how would I go about treating it,salt water?or go the vets?I've got antibiotics here but they are 500mg so I don't know how much to give it.any advice would be appreciated.cheers
Gaz_1989 9,539
Vets if you aren't sure. Didn't you think to look in his mouth before a week passed by?
leegreen 2,221
It takes some time before you dogs mouth will go manky through a foreign object, you should take more notice of your dogs. All that aside, the mouth has an incredible recovery rate. I'd check it in a day and if it doesn't look like it's healing then it's a dose of antibiotics.

leegreen 2,221
Just noticed, if you don't know about antibiotics don't administer/dose them yourself.
