I love the Collie crosses,...always have....

The best of the breed are a pleasure to be around...

They are so knowing, so in tune with their quarry, and once you learn to speak cur,.the game is on.

Love em or loathe em..nothing stirs a debate when the words collie & lurcher are talked of in the same sentence..some owners me included just seem to gel with a cur x where others would rather tea

I have to be honest here the collie x was my first Lurcher, back in 1958 I was 14 years old still at school, I wrote about this before, Now this is the crunch, I learned with that dog by listening t

i've run cur dogs for best part of 30 years now, and it has to be said that the owner does make an enormous difference to the dog. yes failures do occur, but have you ever wondered why most profession

What a cracking read lads,my first dog was collie x,cracking dog did all I wanted with him,I've never gone far from that cross either,my old bitch in the picture was saluki collie grey, very cute in her way, when she went, I came back to a first x, we just hunt what we can eat, not tried her on old red, doesn't worry me,I grew up around older fellas who swore by collie xs, horses for courses, I'm happy.

Were there no pups with his bloodline amongst fellow hunters? Or did you feel the line had to come through him to get the desired traits?

No, he was the last....

The dog I have now is the last of his line and all I want and more in a lurcher if I lost him before I got a pup I don't think I could carry on, I would not know where to start.

I was brought up around all sorts of lurcher mostly bullx because my uncle is a digging man even my old bitch is a bull x but I had my first lurcher pup nearly 3 years ago she's got a good bit of collie in her and she's totally opened my eyes and my latest pup is a collie x I can't get enough of them back end of this season iv really seen what a good collie x can do !! Don't get me wrong bull x have their place and will be adding bull in the my lurchers in the future I think collie bull greys offer a lot to the table

the collie x is like the jack Russell of terriers too me , a good breed dieing out ,......and a decent one aint as easy too find these days , as the pat took over the terrier world and the bull x taking over the lurcher world , I like too see a decent dog without modern day blood , call me old fashioned , but its more of task and a great satisfaction too have a decent dog with out bull in it , but don't get me wrong , I will not knock any breed or dog down , each to there own , and those lads who proceed too work the beddies under ground , I take my hat off as there putting the work and patience into the dog , instead of buying the name of something on a tin off a shelf , just old school , like seeing the underdog achieving , no special names or blood , just an honest dog serving a modern day purpose
