Looks an handy type, well done on holding the dog back, how frustrating as that been?,id concentrate on a few daytime bunny,s,slow and steady until its confidence and experience shines through,if lamping is on the menu then start to enter that into the dogs education.

hi mate .looks a good dog you got.at 1 year old this time of year.ie.soft ground ,crops not very high, windy dark nights is at your advantage.if you leave it till next year its nearly 2 yrs old and you will be behind

give it easy runs so it can catch, mixys about alot now, ideal.like othhers have said dont run it on rabbits it got no chance of catching,a dog of 1yrs old should be out regular, but bieng sensible on the work allowance. it wont learn nout stuck in the kennel

Like I said martin his lite brother here is still very immature and I have only been giving him a few short lamping and ferreting trips I am just going to give my pup a tester season and start him properly next year. You won't do any harm holding him back they seem to be bright and keen enough so should pick the game up quickly when they get going properly. Your always welcome to make to long trip up here for a night out lamping if you like
