jhiggins 48
Ive got a 5yr old Jill ferret that has suddenly developed a very large, hard swelling underneath her right cheek. She is noticeably under the weather - loss of appetite and stands still with her eyes closed from time to time. I've put her on some high protein wet food last night but she seems worse today. Any ideas?? I really don't want to prolong her suffering anymore than i have to but if there is a good possibility of her pulling through, I would be grateful to know what can be done. many thanks Quote Link to post
The one 8,507
Might just be a bad tooth mate better taking her to the vets Quote Link to post
jhiggins 48
I think its a bit low down to be the tooth, its more on her throat / neck. Ive booked her into the vets this evening so i will know more then. Quote Link to post

Nick3439 83
Sounds like some kind of infection; particularly with the listlessness. Have you looked on skin for any bite/cut sore or opened mouth to look for anything. I'll be honest with there fast metabolism and small size id whack it to the vets sharpish Quote Link to post
jhiggins 48
Good news - the lump was just an abscess. Vet made a small cut in it and that was that - job done. Im made up with the result as she is a good worker. Good bit of rest and shes back in the field. Many thanks for all the advice. J 3 Quote Link to post
