brookie 1,193
I revived a letter in the mail today saying that my car has been spotted and they think I am associated with some sort of crime or poaching, the date and time are spot on and yes I was at said location but have they forgot its a public footpath that used to be train lines and there is a public car park where you can park like I did. This footpath gets walked by a lot of people with dogs daily but because I had two lurchers with me and a terrier with me I'm suspected of poaching or committing crime. Carnt even walk my dogs without getting accused of shit you should now write back to the chief cunstable by recorded delivery .quoting the information and disclosure act .asking him to furnish you with all the evidence his officer has including his notes etc witness statements .reminding him that by law hes obliged to respond to your letter within 40 days of receiving it .also include in your letter that your of the opinion this action by his officer is undue process .if he has no evidence to support his claim ,you want him to retract it and to also in writing assure you that your vehicle marked up .if they are not prepared to do this your going to take the matter further through your solicitors ..if you dont address this letter and ignore it the police will use it .they are crafty sods .if you dont challenge this letter it will be registered against you as a caution which in turn means if you go to court in the future for poaching etc its brought up and classed as a conviction . 2 Quote Link to post
strayshot 105
Had something similar and police didn't even turn up. Gamekeeper called them, and was on the phone as I got back to the car. Ended up having a reasonable chat with him and thought I'd convinced him I was just walking the dogs. The next week letter from Old Bill turned up. Thankfully the car was registered to my Mrs who put on her best posh accent and went mental down the phone. Got an apology and marker taken off the car. trenchfoot 4,243
sign upto the local rural watch scheme. That will update its users of suspicious vehicles spotted and notified to the police for alleged poaching. 1 Quote Link to post
zigzag dan 784
I was pulled over on M6 on a Sunday on way back from a rugby match and told my car was marked for rural crime , few days later had a letter saying my car had been seen in daytime parked on a lane and a member of the public " thought I may be going to commit a crime as I had a lurcher " !!! , I was on public footpath , the land holds no game , but he decided I was about to commit a crime ! Police said the markers on cars are reviewed every 28 days and removed if no more info on the car has come to light ...........not that I believe them as I also know someone who after getting pulled a long way from home in his 4th vehicle since the first marker was told the mark moves with the name of the owner not the registration , which I can believe . desertbred 5,490
Once your motor is flagged it will ping up on the cameras up the motorways so if its for poaching you head for a known running or poaching area it will ping up they know you are on your way, if you have been pulled and had details taken and known associates live in the area you are heading towards they know what you are up to before you arrive especially if its 4 am and your heading out unless your going to work lol 1 Quote Link to post
