Leeview 791
I've just heard that he passed away over the weekend. In his time he slipped 17 Waterloo cups. Equally at home judging as well as slipping on the coursing field in England and Eire.He had retired to Tipperary in Eire and had been ill for some time, turning 64 last month no age at all Y.I.S Leeview

dytkos 17,815
Just got off blower to SB Shaun . Had a good chat about the good times Kelly was a great slipper and a character Remember being in the bar of the Scarisbrick till after 5am drinking whiskey with him Me and my pal buzzing having the Craic with him He was on the field in slips 9.30am not a min late on final day. Great days by fook I miss them. They were my favourate 4 days of the year Traveling down for the call over Then 3 days coursing Driving home after the final you were knackered ' happy and sad all in one go Knackered from the drink and Craic Happy going thru the 3 days coursing in your head And sad it was another year till you returned, Tel you what there was some life long and beyond friendships made on the Withins and Lydiate. RIP Gary Kelly A one off for sure Too true mate. R.I.P. Gary, a proper chap.

Leeview 791
Kelly was a great slipper and a character Remember being in the bar of the Scarisbrick till after 5am drinking whiskey with him Me and my pal buzzing having the Craic with him He was on the field in slips 9.30am not a min late on final day I was there Max, M.O'Donovan and Tommy were too in their words"if our dog was still in the cup we'd of put him to bed by 10pm" the last Waterloo Ronnie Mills judged an announcement went out late in the day over the Withens" the antis are congregating on Lord Street outside the Scarisbrick Please give it a wide berth" well Garry and Ronnie were staying in there, they went down the side into the carpark and tried to get in the hotel, to be greeted by a tirade of abuse and being spat on by these antis, despite the police cordon. They got inside and Garry said to Ronnie "can you get aids from spit?" ronnie replied "i dont think so unless you swallow it"LOL As a slipper there was no one close to him in expertise, as for character he was much much more than that word means A TRUE LEGEND IN HIS OWN LIFETIME is possibly nearer the correct mark. Certainly a privilege to know and call a friend Y.I.S Leeview

Leeview 791
Another little Part of British Fieldsports History gone but not forgotten Sean. Great Times. And Southport was a perfect place to pitch up for the Blue Ribband of coursing. Some very nice architecture re hotels' pubs ect The little pub on the seafront apparently the smallest pub in Britain was it ? I can smell the atmosphere of it all now sat here reminiscing So true Max, surprised you can remember the architecture? I cant my eyes were either blurred or I was looking for the hotel, The Lakeside(little pub) was brilliant she used to have the place decked out in the irish counties bunting to greet them, some real craic in there right through the night and then bring out bacon sandwiches for everyone. Good Luck Y.I.S Leeview
Bush Rummager 4,763
Can remember pulling up at the side of him on the stubble at Swaffham. Gary was in his metallic lilac escort if I remember right! Asleep, with feet up on the dash. Sleep well my friend.
