Food Aggression

Allright mate, further to what the others have said, don't feed it in the cage as territorial issues can compound the original problems. Mate had the same problem with a dog and had a nightmare of a job. Take your time with him and all the best..

That is NOT the right way to treat a dog that has been abused. I would suggest the dog is kept apart from children completely while you try and rebuild his confidence. If you can't keep the dog away f

Robin hood considering you have worked or do work around 37 greyhounds you don't know a lot about dogs that live in a domestic environment, which greyhound kennels are not. I have been around hunting

Never mind scruffing the dog, whoever left him in this state wants a kicking Hope you get it sorted though.

What you got to pick his food bowl up for while hes eating, why do you need to put your hand in his bowl and why feed him by hand,

That's what I was thinking how would you like it going to a restaurant ordering your food then the waiter picking up your T Bone and teasing you with it give the dog his f++king food and let him eat it

It's a dog not a human lol I pay for the food and I'm the boss if I want to pick up the bowl I can. Take the advice of skycat and desert and rebuild the bond and trust with the dog. It's an issue that can be sorted and if was me I'd probably feel guilty and have to fix it. Hope the owner gets educated on his wrong doings. Best of luck with it.

Part and parcel of responsible dog ownership, especially if kids share the same household, teaching a mutt to accept a little intrusion into its daily activities also teaches the same youngster to accept other intrusions it may encounter in the field,if you don,t know or understand BASIC dog training and responsible ownership then?.

If you learn the mutt to accept a little intrusion into its daily habits i.e.a little interference in its dining activities,it may then better respond to you in a more favourable way when you may wish to take a bunny from its mouth, worm it,inspect its teeth etc.,it will also better accept the intrusion a few inquisitive kids may push it to etc.,etc.,etc.

Don't think it matters why he wants to mess with the food bowl. The fact is the dog should happy with humans around it's food. And this one isn't.

Iv seen gun dogs trained to leave food and eat on command but lurchers?not for me but if this is basics crack on,everyone does things different

My 4 year old girl feeds my lurcher and makes her sit and wait before eating on command. So I would it's pretty basic yes.
