robin hood 109
I would keep them apart in their own kennel that way the older dog has his own space, you can monitor his feeding and he learns to sleep on his own Quote Link to post
morton 5,368
Id not put them together, far to risky until you have an idea of how the adult dog will take to the pup, then there is the feeding scenario to contemplate.A pup will be a little boisterous and wish to do puppy things, many adult lurchers prefer quiet solitiude in their run and bed and will eventually get fed up of the nature of a pup and react in a manner that will either injure the pup or dominate it,thus having an adverse reaction on the pups development. 4 Quote Link to post
nothernlite 18,089
my we pup goes anywhere near my older dogs they have there teeth showing wouldnt trust then so its a no from me wouldnt risk it either jmo Quote Link to post
lurchers 2,878
I wouldnt risk the pup getting harmed or worse sensrio killed by the adult dog mate.i used to have a bitch that wouldnt let anything in her kennel as if they even stuck there head in for a look she would go nuts.introduce them living together slowly mate by then the pup will be up abit in age and size atb Quote Link to post

morton 5,368
Sling them straight in together! They will sort things out, soon be keeping each other warm!Or as what can often happen in these circumstances, the adult dog will be tucked up warm and comfortable and the youngster will be out in the cold shivering and miserable. 1 Quote Link to post
