fireblade_rrw 20
Im about to get another .243 for night shooting. As i currently use a Tikka M595, i want to stay with this make as i love the 595. My preference is a T3 lite stainless with synthetic stock. Intend fitting a titanium moderator and a Photon XT 6.5 night scope. The T3 is selli g at £855... But..... Local dealer has a new Browning A bolt for 500 quid, and im tempted. Any advice out tbere? Alsone 789
Don't think you'll go far wrong with either tbh. Both Beretta and Browning products are good. Quote Link to post
The Seeker 3,048
Nothing wrong with an A bolt, I have it in .223 and i can't fault it. 1 Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
As Seeker says, nothing wrong with an A bolt mate, (just dont fire moly bullets through it eh Seeker me old mucker?) not quite the same quality as the Tikka, but not bad, and as you say saving £350 is not a bad plan, the triggers are not bad at all and I would have thought 40 quid at a riflesmith could tune it to a very sweet shooter, dont think you will be dissapointed with an A bolt mate. 2 Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
There is not a great deal to chose between any manufacturer these days, it is more a matter of personal preference, and making sure you get a good one, regardless of make/calibre, if you are buying used! Quote Link to post
Striker11 13
I have an A Bolt and it shoots sweet. The gold trigger is a nice touch and my only problem with it was that the thread wouldn't allow a T8 moderator to be fitted so I have an ATEC mod which is lightweight but really loud. ianm 2,594
I had an A bolt in .243 and was never happy with it, the triggers are dire and no amount of fettling will make it better. A spring change is the only thing that can be done but the improvement is marginal. I got rid and replaced it with a stainless Tikka T3, the best thing i could have done. Pay the extra and buy quality you won't look back. Quote Link to post
Soulboy1857 3
Yes you save £350,but it's not the same, maybe shoots the same, but dosnt feel the same and you've got to hold/use it all day. I ended up with a Sako 85 in .243,couldn't really afford it at the time but I'm glad I did. Quote Link to post
