Career 707 Mk 2 ?

Recommended Posts

Anyone used a career 707 mk2 ?? What's your views on them ?? iv had 1 for a little while, its got a slow leak from the filling valve. the chap I had it off has had it for about 10 - 12 years, and kept it under his bed unbagged .. and over time when filling up im lead to believe possibly dust?? as got around the inlet valve and its not closing tight hence the reason its leaking.

im just not sure whether to to get it in for a service or put it up spares or repairs for either a swap for something else or to sell it.

could anyone get me a rough idea in what its worth cheers

get it done locally to save on postage both ways. i dont think it would neet to be a special gun smith to swap o rings

my 100 cost 80 quid at brighouse gun shop and thats setting ft lb's and he had a look at barrel for me to make sure it was not bent..

barrel is ok so bad shooting down to me being cross eyed

Firstly, There`s very few Gun Smiths I`de trust to do a Career Service. Because of the number of O rings involved and the complexity, the time it can take to find a leak, the price for a service will be at Least £100 and possibly more.

Value anything from £300 for a leaky rough gun to possibly £600 for an unmolested gun in perfect condition.

Because of the lack spares in the UK many sellers are dismantling and making more money selling parts. This can take many months though.

The inlet valve is an easy fix, information is out there. You`ll need to make a tool to get the end screws off though.

As S/Mole advised I contacted AC guns and they have quoted £65 + p&p and said it will take 3 / 4 days ??

They also offered to remove the push in adapter fittings and replace it with a daystate snap on fitting ? Would this be advisable or should I keep it as original as possible ??

Go for what they suggested, the Daystate snap on fitting is also the same as the quick change filling adaptor sold by Best Fittings, so if you have another type of PCP as well all you need to buy is the Best Fitting male adaptor and voila, instant quick change system!
