rob284 1,682
Anyone ever had a dog that is completely mute but doesn't mix it with its quarry. Just sits in front of it about 6 inch without punishment but will stay hours till dug without a sound at all. Quote Link to post
Onlyworkmatters 1,584
My mate sent a dog to N.I years ago that did that, just lay in there looking at his game, If it wanted to move the dog would go fast but if it settled in the block end the dog would just look at it...... strange, never did it when it was over here tho Edited November 22, 2014 by Onlyworkmatters Quote Link to post

neil cooney 10,416
Seen them and a liability if a collar fails. Not even a knock or a bump to start the terrierman in the right direction. 2 Quote Link to post
Mosby 355
Saw a few like that last May. All were bred from similar stock. Small dogs. The nutria would be just in front of them. That is pretty useless in my opinion. Like Neil said, if collar goes bunk, the dog is up shit creek without a paddle. You'd have to trench, which sucks. If a dog is going to be mute, it better be kicking ass. And if it ain't kicking ass, it better be making as much noise as possible. Without collars, a mute dog is a risk. Here in the states, we have noisy game. We can dig to the game if the dog isn't make noise cause coons and nutria are noisy as hell. 1 Quote Link to post

THE GENERAL 1,982
I had one at a time that would have gave his all the first 20mins then come off and just stay there no noise, nothing. He done it on a 7 ft dig early in his career in a place and it was the last time he done it. Quote Link to post
