trigger2 3,146
i am lucky enof to have axses to some realy good rabbit dogs and bitches of very us sizes im wanting to breed the best rabbiting litter that i can i want masive staminer and a realy good catch rate with a dog that can cope on all tipes of land be it flat or ruff as hell so when you get the odd night and you get the chance of a big night you have the right dog at your side. jest one dering what you guy that get a few bunnys would go for size wise heavy or light tall or small??????????? all dogs that would be bred from are a mix of collie bull grey sall whippet. what works for you?? in my opinion dave once you go over 27tts i think in 9 out of 10 cases you start to lose that little bit of agility sometimes required to pick up rabbits on flat land. on the rough land it wouldnt be noticed but when it comes to the flat land the dog might look as though it is lacking something. thats when decent bit of brain is required in a dog to make up for its slight running/agility disadvantage. i prefer a bigger steadier dog because i think they can just take that little bit more when needed o.k they might not look has impressive as a lighter faster built dog on a rabbit but has long has the dog is doing the job and getting results i dont really care how good it looks on something. its what its put in the bag at the end of the week that concerns me. 3 Quote Link to post
