SeanTheHawker 0
A mate was lookign a ferret, and i was meant to meet him this weekend. so got a new young hob from a mate and then found out the weekends hunting has been cancelled due to gales. i thought nothing of it, and put the ferret it with the others. ive put ferrets in before lots of times without even a squabble. checked in an hour later no problem. then checked the next day, no problem, altho the kit seemed to hide in the sleeping compartment most of them time, just a little nervous i assumed. then this mornign i was woken my screaming of a ferret. got up and ran down, to find this new hob with blood on his back, and seemed like he had been bitin quite hard. i washed his wounds up with water,(should i rub somethign into it too?) and put him in the spare hutch. One thing that has got me thinking about this, is this hob smells alot different to any other ferret i have ever put in with them, or even smelt in that case lol. it could be a month or two till im able to pass on the ferret, so has anyone any ideas how i could get them to get along. thanks seán Quote Link to post
SeanTheHawker 0
forgot to mention, the hob i currently have is a castrated hob, so dont think he would be territorial, not to sure if it was the hob doing the damage either Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
I am having the same problem with 2 jills here , i put the new one in a carry case inside the older jills cage so they could sniff each other for a day or so, then attempted to introduce them, it was ok for the first 10 mins, then the older jill went beserk Looks like i will have 3 seperate groups now Quote Link to post
