firkin ferreter 3
Pembrokeshire Charity Sea Angler Match organisers are looking for anglers to come and wet a line at their annual charity fishing match next month. This year the organisation is raising funds for the Cleft Lip and Palate Association. CLAPA is a UK-based voluntary organisation helping those with, and affected by, cleft lip and palate. The group staged their first match in October last year, in which they raised in excess of £1,250 for the children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent. John Loring, Event Manager said, “The response to this year’s match has been overwhelming with support from far and wide, and we are hoping to achieve as much as last year, if not better!” He added, “We are especially looking forward to welcoming families on the day where Santa Claus and Sam (the close quarters magician) will be appearing.” The event, which takes place on Saturday 6th December at Amroth Beach, Pembrokeshire, looks set to be fun and competitive, with many prizes up for grabs, including a grand raffle following the match. Top prize for the longest fish in the senior’s section is £150 and an eight hour bass trip, whilst the junior’s winner will get £25 and a four hour bass trip. Fishing gets under way at 10am and ends at 3pm with the weigh in at 3.15pm. One rod and three hooks permitted per angler and all entrants need to book in from 8.30am on the day at the New Inn car park, Amroth. Refreshments are available at the New Inn throughout the day. Entry is £10 for seniors and £5 for juniors (under 16’s). Booking is available on the day at the venue or via their website: www.fishingthroughoutpembrokeshire.co.uk The organisers would like to thank all the sponsors, raffle contributors and volunteers for this year’s match, including: Awesome Fishing, St Catherine's Island & Fort, Woodenbale 2000 Ltd, Jackie's Craft Supplies and Raven Trading. 1 Quote Link to post
