My 7 month old GSD pup is fed on CSJ lamb and rice, raw lamb and beef bones and chicken carcasses but finds hers and other dogs $h1t irresistible. I've recently tried mixing in pineapple juice to the CSJ on recommendation from the vet but all that has done is loosen the stools. She has eaten the stools for as long as I've had her. My yard is cleaned every time the dogs go out. Can anyone offer any causes or solutions. Thanks for reading

Is she out much doing doggy stuff, dogs but pups in particular are extremely interested in objects with s prey full essence , shit , piss , odours, blood , bodly fluids anything that activates their predator element,

Juveniles before they have a focus are just exercising the predator in their character, as she matures other predator activities will overrule this avenue of canine behaviour

When dogs are able to fully explore all elements of canine behaviour , the trivial shite (excuse the pun) usually ceases,

Get her out , try a tug item when out , she needs a focus,

Best of luck

Quiet common in GSD pups. If they dont get enough stimulation and doing different things everyday. My GS pup has done it, but i have told her no and distracted her, she seems to be getting better as she gets older. I think most of them grow out of it. I also find, some pups are worse than others. Some will just eat a bit, others go out their way to eat every scrap thats about.

Just as a matter of interested, is your GSD working bred or show?

Thank you for the replies lads. I'm lucky enough to have my dogs out at work with me every day but there is plenty of time for a bit of obedience search work or tracking or just a walk. She seems to be the sort who will go out of her way to find the $h17 even though there is plenty to keep her occupied. I thought the pineapple juice solution sounded like an old wives tale but after a bit of research on various forums I thought I'd give it a go. She is a working bred bitch I imported from the Czech republic, in every other way she is perfect wanting to please and settling in very quickly (I've had her about 6 weeks). I think I'm just going to go back to basics with her diet and house training and see what happens

Adds minerals that the dog is lacking hence once it gets the minerals it stops the dog eating shit ... Also very good for cooling the dogs blood in the hot weather which helps prevent skin disorders ......
