Blackbriar 8,569
Haven't heard the new record yet ......... (kinell, 'record' - that gives my age away !), but apparently it's performed by some of today's most talented and charismatic stars - and One Direction.................. On a serious point, though, they'll need to raise a fair bit of money to pay all those hired street muggers they have and pay for the large HQ offices in the City. Then there's the charity directors, some of them paid more than the Prime Minister, as well as the various consultants and advisers. When they've actually sent the aid, the local warlords and corrupt politicians will all want their little piece of the action, and a fair bit of it will be stolen or misappropriated in a myriad of scams. The UK has already sent properly trained personnel, with all the right equipment, to help make an effective difference and I think that's the way forward. If the money raised would be used to pay to send another naval vessel, with all the medical staff and equipment and all the rest of it, I'd be first in the queue to buy it. As things stand, I think it's a good way of taking money from poor people in rich countries, and giving it to rich people in poor countries.................................. Cynical ? Me ?

Spot on, we're already paying millions to combat ebola over there, where do they think the money being spent sending troops over there with the equipment they need is coming from? That's right, the taxpayer - the very people Geldof and co are telling to donate..

beast 1,884
Ebola... I remember that...... that was the virus that was going to wipe out the world last month. The one everybody was raving about and prepping to run for the hills from because the men in suits were secretly creating a pandemic to reduce the worlds population....... yeah I remember. was that before or after BSE? and swine flu? SARS? and feck knows what other diseases they keep telling us are going to devastate the world population, but The Government will save us, they really care about us and are just brilliant.

arcticgun 4,548
never mind ebola Africa and all that crap, how on earth is Geldof worth 32million he was in Boontown Rats, not the biggest or best of bands, couple of decent tines but surely not making that sort of coinage? then he does all the charity work etc it fookin amazes me, I read on here he receives coin for speeches etc but agin to the tune of 32million, it just don't add up to me, read about in paper on way to graft today mad world innit? Cant stand the song like a few have said if half them singing in it tipped up their fair share of taxes, like us lot are forced too then there would be little problem, Africa? like a lot say its never changed, only ppence end up their , same with children in need and red nose crap, everyone moans about being skint and son as the celebs are on the annual charity binge all of a sudden we can tip up 27million in one evening between us, what we should all do is send me the 27 million and all invest it in coke and we split the profits between us and buy Africa or youse can and all just enjoy my share :victory:
dare 1,103
Should of maybe spent more time helping his own kid rather than trying to save anyone else's then she might just still be here.
Malt 379
Should of maybe spent more time helping his own kid rather than trying to save anyone else's then she might just still be here.Good point that. Should have faded from view over the years and concentrated on giving his kids a normal upbringing after what happened to their mother. Bit hard to take lessons on morality from him.
