Someone off here asked to see some pics of my old coursing deerhounds, and while going through my old diaries to find them I came across a few I thought I'd put up here taken at one of the joint meeti

You're right Neil - the slipper had a hell of a difficult job. In some places the heather was short but in others it could be as tall as three foot. And it was up and down all day; some gentle slopes

Giro, I do have lots more deerhound pics but the trouble is it would take me hours (if not days!) to find them. I've got a massive desk drawer absolutely stuffed with packets of old prints and negativ

Great post bud brings back alot of memories. Really enjoyed the Dava meetings and the borders meet at Gifford. Halcyon days bud. Atb Dunc

Yeah, the borders meeting was always a good one as well. Shame it's all over. Will be in touch - you fancy coming over here for some lamping? Plenty of bunnies about.

I don't remember ever seeing anything in the mainstream press Maximus. Would love to hear about it if you do manage to find it. The Field ran a piece on deerhounds about 15 years back and the cover carried a photo of Seamus Caine sitting in a boat with two of his ('Killoeter') hounds on the shore of a loch. I've got it lying around somewhere but can't find it at the moment, but you can see the cover photo here - http://scottish-deerhound.com/forum/5-general-deerhound-chat/20309-magazine-article

Got a book here by Kenneth cassells about working deerhounds well worth a read if you can get your hands on it

Very rarely for sale and a bit pricey when it is. I'd love to read it myself if anyone would sell a copy?

I think i'm right in saying there was only one fairly small print run so there just aren't many copies out there. I got mine straight from Kenneth and I'm afraid it's not for sale :cray:
