BIGLURKS 874
Needing some pics of conversions for smokers recently got a hold of a strimmer 2 stroke engine I've cut the bar off only leaving the engine and seen a few lads attach wands too the exuast but for the life of me I can't find a way too attach it with out the wand getting too hot or melting any rubber I use or moveable I can weld a fixed piece on but how do lads make it moveable Quote Link to post
bobcullen79 1,495
Unless it already has a lengthy exhaust, you might struggle. The one I f****d up had a tiny exhuast on a little tin box. As soon as you touched it with a welder it burnt through the tin. Do they successfully smoke earths out then? Ive only ever done rats. Just re-read your post... Once you get a bit of an exhaust you can jubilee clip some heat proof rubber pipe on. Dont know what its called or where you get it, but it does exist. Quote Link to post
smithie 2,443
bob could you braze it on? it would be possible to braze thinner steel than what you comfortably weld Quote Link to post
toby63 1,236
mine had a tin little box on it . i un bolted it back down to bare outlet and got a mate to make a plate and weld a tube onto plate and drill holes and bolt that onto outlet then attatch heat proof hose Quote Link to post
bullmastiff 615
Should of left the bar on, then run the exhaust hose into that. Saves you having to bend down all the time! The exhaust gases cool down by the time it comes out the end of the bar so you can poke it about amongst the bales. plus a quick fiddle about and it's back to a strimmer. 1 Quote Link to post

I took it to the old boy round the corner and watched him do less than a glorious job, thinking, fecking give it here.... I kept burning holes and getting stuck Fecking hhilarious watching him trying to make me some end pins.. A few weeks later a mate of his took a look at his ancient oil filled job and was bloody amazed we hadnt killed ourselves as it was earthed properly or something ? Quote Link to post
