the big chief 3,099
making this for a good friend on hear (longers) anyway i thought i would do another build along feel free to copy this one lads as you no i did one with the collar so same rules apply different project right you start by taking your knife and some paper or card up to you draw a line down the middle of the paper place the knife on it so the spine of the knife is on the line then roll the knife over and draw round the knife make sure you draw another line a mm or so off the cutting edge then draw another 1/2" after that in the shape you want your sheath mine is like this then simply fold your paper on the line you drew and cut out yor template then transfer this onto your leather and draw round it make sure its on the back of the leather red pen is better as the dye will go over the red pen cut it out then also cut out your straps what will be going on this will have a belt loop and a dangler bevel the edges but not on the inside of the sheath where the blade goes as the welt needs to go in there welt glued in place then use this no its not a spud pealer lol its a skiver it thins down the leather when its too bulky like on the belt loop and dangler then its time to dye your leather when that is done let it dry don't mess with it at all after mine was dry i took a paper towel and rubbed off the rest off the dye what sits on the leather like a powder and you buff the hell out of it till it goes shiny then you can burnish the under side of the leather as it will be fluffy and looks dam shit hear a couple of pics of the dangler and how it will fit all the edges of the sheath and other bits need to be burnished still but you get the jist thats me done for today cheers for looking kev

Mister Gain 1,764
Another good run-through, and despite my advancing years I actually learned something. I have always only known skivers as either lazy gits or the leather inlay on top of a desk, so to find out it is also the name of a tool was something new.
