Rake aboot 4,935
Neither can hold a candle to the CZ 452 for a start Fit a rimfire magic trigger kit to the CZ and you have the best rimfire on the market. 3 Quote Link to post
Matthew Phillips 36
I have a 10/22 with custom hammer and heavy barrel. Cost 400 second hand (with scope and mod). It has a hogue oversold stock and is perfect for bunny bashing. I've never shot a CZ but have heard they're slightly more accurate, however, the ability to fire off multiple rounds quickly is what made the decision for me. And regarding accuracy, half inch 5 shot groups at 60 yards is nothing to moan about! Quote Link to post
courser 73
I already have a CZ 452 with the Rinfire magic trigger kit and I am very happy with it The reason I ask is that my wife has a Browning Buckmark and uses it very well. I have just bought her a 10/22 for a silver wedding present ( it has a stainless "Silver" Barrel. would you believe) I have taken to the Ruger and I am interested in the after market upgrades for one, But I have no knowledge on it's accuracy. It is getting near my birthday ( guess what I may get?) so I might as well learn as much about the Ruger 10/22 as I can. I also have a T/C contender .223 single shot, a T/C Encore .22 Hornet single shot and a CZ 527 American .22 Hornet, so, I may be buying a larger gun cabinet as well. Quote Link to post
Ballybricken 1
I can agree with the CZ 452 a cracking bit of kit out of the box, I however sold mine and bought a 10/22, mainly as I like tinkering with stuff, which the ruger is ideal for, the accuracy can be vastly improved with some money spent on it, but will never be anywhere as good as the 452. But it does the job and being as short as mine is its cracking wee gun for lamping from the comfort of the car Quote Link to post

Cedric 132
I believe the Buckmaster is about twice the price of a 10/22, leaves you quite a bit for add-on's. My "silver" 10/22 is pretty good in factory condition (apart from some work on the trigger) but not quite the same accuracy as my Anshutz 1417. Quote Link to post
charlie caller 3,654
Buy a CZ 511, or 512, mine is head scratchingly accurate with Eley subs, just as accurate as my Anschutz was. Quote Link to post
Rimfireboy! 1,463
CZ 511 has to be one of the best semi auto .22's IMO. Don't know much about the 512's though I suspect they're probably good. I've seen some tricked up 10/22's but I'd still choose a CZ 511 if I was after a semi auto .22, can't comment on the browning buckmark. 1 Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
There are very few bad guns out there these days, the Buckmark could be viewed as a bit of a novelty and the 10/22 is acknowledged as the highest selling semi...lord knows why as many seem to throw much of it away and then trick it up! If your mind is set on a semi then I rate the 511 very highly, but if you want a bit of out of the box action for no money try these! Mine was £150 brand new! As it comes (edit, I fitted the studs) a little work later It is actually one of these, but considerably cheaper. Edited December 11, 2014 by Deker Quote Link to post
kenj 131
I'm with Deker on this one. Definitely a Magtech fan. This has a place alongside my CZ452 .17 Varmint. This was my latest Magtech outing. http://www.urbanfieldsportsman.com/index.php/magtech-22-succeeds-on-a-woodland-rabbit-hunt/ Quote Link to post
celticrusader 78
The cz 511 is the modern remake of a Brno 581 and have to agree, as I have the Brno and for short range rabbiting and especially ratting I certainly wouldn't use a bolt action for that role...the hmr is for accuracy on further range. Its all about the quarry and job at hand. Quote Link to post
nasher1 258
I went to the gunshop earlier to have a airleak sorted on a pcp and came out with a ruger 10/22 target heavy barrel, I hope it shoots as good as it looks. Quote Link to post
shootlodge 145
Cz semi auto 581/ 511 & buckmark are sweet as can be,for the price .... the 10/22 is a good basic rifle , get it sweet & add the volquarsen bits @ £500+ & you have a gem. Quote Link to post
The Seeker 3,048
Get a10/22 mate you wont regret it, Very good rabbit gun. People say they are not accurate well mine is and I wouldn't swap it for a CZ if you paid me. P.S I have a CZ 452 so I know how accurate the CZ can be but mine isn't for punching paper its for killing rabbits and that it does very well. Quote Link to post
