Goose Hunting For Beginners

Hi all,

 

I'd like to start some goose hunting in a field. I have 14 acres of land to shoot on, and had a few questions to get started. Firstly and foremost, is this enough land for geese to land / fly over? There is a huge 30 acre lake behind the treeline where the land boundary ends, but it's owned by a cement and aggregates company. Secondly, how many decoys should I start out with? I've seen a few videos where people use decoys and get geese to land in fields, however they are much bigger than 14 acres.

yes 14 acres is enough I was shooting this morning and I used 12 decoys a mix of graylags and canadas set up like you would for pigeons .don't put centres at the back put feeders at the back and you will be ok bud
