i wouldn`t worry about it if i were you mate, the 2 species are totally different, he may have even, become familiarised with cats walking past his pen etc, try it again on foxes and i`ll bet my bollox it kills next one as sweet as it has the last 4, and if it jacks, it jacks, there aint a thing you can do about it, some dogs are never destined to make it, i wish i had a quid for everyone i`ve seen spew i`d have more money than that jonathan darcy bloke!!!!!!! and where`s my book JD ??? i`m bored to friggin tears i need a good read mate

Well lads thanks for all the replys Now one thing I forgot to mention is one farm I go on is full of ferals and the farmer wants rid So this dog has killed a fair few ferals no problem so the barking worried me BUT maybe it was just that it was pitch dark and no lamp he was unsure of it I dont know Im off out digging now and the dog is coming so well see if we meet anything, and as Subaruwilly says ' if it jacks, it jacks, there aint a thing you can do about it' Il let ye know if we meet any thing for the dog out digging

Good news lads We got 2 digs today, the first one to a young bitch locked only 3ft, when we got down we got the bitch and the lurcher drew this Very big fox He took abit of stick as they were jaw to jaw so after a quick rag I pulled the dog of and let the Quarry go for another day as I normally do

The next was a lovely little fox earth only a foot under the ground to the young bitch again The lurcher drew a nice little vixen and done his job in no time taking no stick We checked a few more holes but nothing else at home

I was very pleased with the dog today, maybe it was just because the dog was unsure of the cat in the darkness? I dont know Sorry for rabbiting on but I was worried that the dog had given up on me Thats 5 foxes and since sunday not bad eh?
