marshman 7,758
Qbgrey that's my point exactly ... My boy did loads of daft things ... A jet flew over the school and he dived under the table and told the teacher he had PTSD because his dad was in the army ... I had a phone call from the school telling me to collect him because of his condition that was playing up ... He told them he had a bad heart and needed to go home ... He would hide in people's wheelie bins and scare the life out of them when they came to their front doors ... Smashed greenhouse windows with his rugby ball by being careless ... He has come home the worse for wear plenty of times after scrapping ... Some he won some he lost and a thousand other things that ALL boys do when their young ... BUT if he had acted like that youngster in the video that would be a different matter ... There's levels of acceptability that young lad is way over it ......... and that the stuff you know about I wonder if there's any stuff that he hasn't told you about knowing that he's old man would be embarrassed

dare 1,103
I sort of agree with socks on the stealing situation and fight to be honest. Bit different if your sons used a weapon to really hurt him. A fight and other gets unlucky n hits his head on the way down or something I'd feel guilty but with the stealing he set out to do that. Anyway personally I think we're way off the mark. This is just a kid who's really immature playing upto a camera and being a little shit. Not saying his a saint or wants praising but not killing lol. A good slap and not going out for a month plus the Xbox and the rest of it taken away. His just young and got alot of growing up to do. Everyone's got upto things and played up infront of friends when young and sure were not out mugging old women. Title of this thread hit home on weekend had a mate who's been told his going away for the first time. Didnt seem majorly bothered just accepted it. Get back to his house and his mums upset and could see he got tearful while telling her sorry. Shows no matter how old or hard you are everyone wants their mum to be proud of em. I felt more good about my mum telling her mates on the phone when I first started working than actually getting the job lol.

dare 1,103
Of course you wouldn't because naturally your gonna wanna protect your son and the rest of it. I know someone who had a fight punched a bloke n killed em, nothing of this bloke either. He saw a helicopter above and didnt even run or think it was for him. Got done for it but do you look at him as a scumbag or a murder? I'm sure the family of the other guy do but that's probably down to the upset and shoe on other foot i doubt they'd think it. If a fight breaks out between two lads for whatever reason of course it's morally more acceptable than a pre meditated shoplifting crime for example ... and if he ACCIDENTALLY put some poor fukcer in the hospital then that's not a deliberate act and shit happens ... If he pulled out a bar and smashed the guys skull in then that's a different matter ..........

The thing is in life you are going to get in a fight at some stage and you could be the unlucky one that hit another fella and put him in a serious condition but its an accident that you can't do anything about ... Shoplifting is a pre determined thought out action that's not an accident ... If that makes sense ??? .........
dare 1,103
Makes sense to me and I agree. Of course I would rather my son didnt kill noone nor shop lift. If he killed someone by accident I can exactly be angry a that as its an accident. Going to steal isnt.
bell 3,608
Errr no it doesn't actually........agreeing to take part in a fight where you know you could feck up the other person is a pre determined action. In my book neither scenario is either big or clever........ Bell
dare 1,103
If you have a falling out and ends up a fight I'm sure you don't mean to kill noone and its of course rare it does happen but it can. If it was to happen I can't say I'd be angry i mean who hasn't ever had a fight?
