Buy/make Priest

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the replies. I'll hold off getting one, for now at least. That's the first time if felt the need for one. I usually can get the head through a hole and job done but came a bit stuck (was out alone and feeling rushed too).

Tomo, How do you chin it when its head/chest is balled up tight together? I can't think how, I need to be able to free it's head for a chin or stretch.

Helps if you use nets with the bigger meshes. I usually just force/wiggle my forefinger and thumb through the meshes and under its chin, then once you have it round the neck secure you can let go with your other hand 8 times out of 10 the rabbit will straighten out now the net isnt under tension and you pull the ring. Got a nice manky scratch now on the inside of my finger from one that wasnt having any of it...

Its chinning them balled up in longnets I find a pain in the arse.

I know exactly what the op means they can be tricky to chin in the longnet especialy when they've rolled around and gotten into a tight tangle. I don't use a priest but if used properly Id imagine they would be just as humane as chinning.

Suprising how deep them bunny kicks can cut your hands, I was chinning a rabbit in a purse net last season and it kicked out and put a deep gash in the palm of my hand.
