The one 8,482
I don't think they need banning but are fine for organised displays it seems that they are set off for about a month round us and I thought it was illegal apart from the fifth but nobody seems to bother
WILF 47,171
No, much as I can't stand the things or this time if year, I am even less of a fan of "banning" things ! It's called freedom, f**k me, we don't have much left as it is.
dare 1,103
Maybe keep it for the professionals or like someone's said only allowed at set times or your fined. Thing is with alot of the firework nights in london anyway when younger it just used to be trouble. Remember going once with my mum and woman infront of us had her handbag grabbed and was punched in the face. In the later years it would just be kids from different estates meeting up and fighting each other. Ruined it for the kids to be honest.

cragman 2,770
You're all a load of whingers with selective memories. Didn't any of you have a shoe box full of bangers and rip raps when you were young? Feck me, what's happened to enjoying the occasion once a year. It's not the fireworks it's the cnuts using them that need banning. Cob coaling a week before to earn some dosh to buy them then all the family would enjoy bonfire together. Those were the days and some things change for the worse if you ask me.

unlacedgecko 1,466
The IRA used to use the noise of fireworks to disguise the sound of weapons fire when zeroing.

Bit of a difference between the bangers & screamers that I messed about with as a lad to the things kids are letting off today at all hours of the day & night. Fcukin things make your windows rattle
pesky1972 5,307
Just let off 50 notes worth out the back....kids loved it. You can ban them all now Don't normally bother and take them to the local organised show but the council have move it to the weekend this year....fcuk only knows why. Downtown Kobane is probably quieter tonight than it is round here
ratbuster 807
Bit of a difference between the bangers & screamers that I messed about with as a lad to the things kids are letting off today That all started when they banned proper crackers to be sold. The same happened here in the Netherlands. Making them illegal created a black market without any control or restriction. All the extreme heavy stuff is coming in from Poland and the Tsjech republic. When you could buy good fireworks in the shop, nobody bothered to get the illegal stuff. Without any proper border control all that stuff is coming in and causing a lot of nuisance for elderly people, pets and property, but it's a market which was created by our own PC governments. WILF 47,171
Funny how humans are.......it always makes me smile when I read threads like this..... We hate the hunting ban but are quiet happy to ban something relatively harmless (other than being a pain in the arse) because it frightens our bloody dog or bird or moggy !!!
