Apparenlty these dogs dont know how to switch off lol

Tell you what, they pack some punch and do very well in the arm forces and police work ect!

One of the clips below, is traning pups, crap music, but what they put them threw is unreal, yet they seem to thrive and do well, they need that type of work, constant, to keep them happy!

I have a dog and bitch that are both working protection dogs (private security) as for the none switch off that people mention perhaps you should look at a properly trained one first and you would see

To be fair I have huge admiration for these dogs ! The force around here are using them at the minute ! I really can see how they can be a pain in the arse for someone that doesn't understand or use the breed

Alot of dog owners here can't even be arsed to give their dog proper exercise let alone test the dog. Money for pups means so many are blind to faults of their own dog that and probably ego/love for the dog. Great working breed at the moment but because of that every idiot will want one. Then how long until they go like many other gaurd breeds before em? Have seen plenty of adverts of people claiming they have a great gaurd dog for sale lol thing probably barks. People sell dogs and call em personal protection dogs because it can bite the sleeve. Anyway sorry for ranting i just happen to quite like the breed but 90% of what's bred in the future will be crap.

I would love to have one myself, but the none switch off mode they have, puts me off a bit, unless i could give it the work it needs, which i can not.

They really need to be busy all the time!

Apparently the full bred working CZ german shephers can be the same.

I've a smart young pup out of a Mali/herder to a Mali dog. A friend owns the dam sire and gran sire and has kept the same family for a few years and when he breeds to replace his own stock he likes to keep the number of pups right down as they are hard to put into decent working homes. wanted an active dog but also wanted a dog I could leave in the yard now and then and not worry about it getting too frustrated. I've owned both GSD and Malis have always preferred a good shepheard personally. Atb

My Mali switched on and off as you please. I can walk him off the lead down the town centre no problem. He knows when it's game on and most of the time it's not.

I think the dogs that you know of are security or service dogs only. Trouble with the dogs on the vid is, they are left in the kennel only to be got out to do work and this is what they are all about. This breed has a lot more to offer than people think, it's what you do with them that makes them what they are or do.

I have a dog and bitch that are both working protection dogs (private security) as for the none switch off that people mention perhaps you should look at a properly trained one first and you would see that they can indeed switch off. In my opinion they are leagues ahead of the gsd and have far less health issues but like everything you must buy from the right places.

Jigsaw, sounds like you have gsd with a high drive, think you mentioned it before that he was bred from europeon working lines?

Good to hear that the BM can be trained to switch off, as a lot seem to be wired, sounds like its the man behind the lead that can get the best out of them.

Some interesting replys.
