Andrew Russ 31
Hi guys what are the tell tale signs of a Jill coming into season?? What are your views of breeding and putting with a vasectomused hob to bring out of season. If I did want kits what would he the best time to breed?? Quote Link to post
krawnden 1,036
#1 Vulva swelling up #2 Good way to bring em out of season if you don't want kits, but with some jills you'll have to do it more than once each summer (and if you keep jills together there's a good chance they'll spend a lot of time trying to drag their cage mates back into the sleeping quarters, so be prepared for a noisy summer as it won't happen without protest on the other jills' part) #3 I like to do it as early in the breeding season as possible; that way the kits will be well grown by autumn and you can start working them that much earlier than a late-born litter Edited November 4, 2014 by krawnden Quote Link to post
The one 8,503
As said your Jill will swell up , how's a good time to breed your Jill as real early kits will be mature enough to start ferreting next August but it means your going to loose the use of your Jill for a good three months, but is your Jill good enough to breed from as a lot of guys see breeding there Jill's as a easy option to bringing them out offseason and there's too much crap being bred Quote Link to post
