Guest joe ox
stevo pre ban did you run your local hares how did you find them against fen hares? Link to post
Guest nitedog
Before the ban I ran all over the country and the best and smartest I've ran were on Salisbury Plains, second the fens, on downs if you gave them to much start your dog would get straight lined. IMO on small fields the hares aren't as fast or as smart as on big land, its just the dog haven't got much time to catch never mind work the hare before it hits a hedge, most kills are made before the hare gets going unlike on big land where you will see how good you dog really is and how hard a hare can be to catch when it gets going. why any of the doubled up lampers are even on this thread i don't know, i mean they cant catch a long eared at night with one dog never mind on the fens in the day, mush is that all you do daytime??? if so you must not do much with the dogs. who lamps doubled up dogs ??? i lamp one dog one hare i also do daytime coursing in season and no a lot about both and iv got good dogs in both sports so whats your problem with lamping Link to post
Sorley x 32
Unless I had been asked to clear out hares then I WOULD NEVER Waste a hare by running it on a lamp. Single handed, DAY TIME hares is the only way to test the running mettle of your dog. This post is riddled with idiots and i'm NOT aiming that at anyone in particular. Just saying that AS PER usual anorther potential interesting thread RUINED. Personally I wish the Mods were tighter on trouble makers. Link to post
Guest SJM
very true its getting to the stage where every thread about hares or coursing is going down the same road, I have never heard so much shyte in my life as Ive heard on some of these hare coursing threads, from fen hares being the easiest to lamping hares being just as hard if not harder than daytime I just want to know where can I get some of the drugs youse guys are on and is there any long term damaging effects from the constant hallucinations and delusions? Link to post
Guest joe ox
sjm I know places where any running dog will be lucky to kill 2 out of 3 hares on the lamp I would wager anyone who thinks any different, I also know places where hares are so easy to kill daytime if a dog cannot kill 2 out 3 daytime it isnt worth kennel space! Basicly its not as black and white as some people would try to make everybody else believe! Edited October 30, 2007 by joe ox Link to post
