will777 0
Hi, I have a weihrach hw97k with a simmons 3-9x40 simmons prohunter scope on Im thinking of upgrading the scope as im using it a lot lately and a friend is wanting to buy my old one. Can anyone advise on some good scopes and whether i should stick 3-9x40. Mainly used for rabbits and vermin. Standard power. Thanks Edited October 26, 2007 by will777 Quote Link to post

RatSnatcher 0
The simmons scope you have is a good scope......why do you want to upgrade? Quote Link to post
Malt 379
A lot of people make a big song and dance about what type of scope they have. As long as your scope holds it's zero and you have the proper type of mounts for your gun, eg. a single piece mount on a recoiling rifle to stop scope creep, you cant go wrong. 3-9 X 40 is plenty powerfull enough for hunting with a legal limit air rifle. A mate of mine once spent silly money on a scope that could zoom in for miles to put on his s200. It didn't get him any more rabbits than he used to get before. In fact, I think he got less, because by the time he'd finished f**king around with the settings on the scope, the rabbit had legged it! Mind you, I think he'd watched his favourite film, Leon one too many times! Quote Link to post

Very true Stick with your simmons they are far better than most of the sh!te on the market mate.....the 97k is heavy enough without lugging a big effing scope aswell Quote Link to post
