Scope Suitability ?

Does anybody use, or know if the MTC Mamba Lite 4x16x44 will be suitable on a 6.5x55.

 

Not really sure if these scopes are up to the job on a full bore rifle, thanks in advance, Del.

I have the mtc viper on my .243, been on over 8 years and never had any issues

They are rubbish mate, save your money for something decent. Had a Mamba as a first scope on a 308, terrible whiteout on high mag, side focus bore no resemblance to actual distance and weighed a ton. Bought a Burris Fullfield from the States for less on ebay that pissed on it in every way.

A scope well worth a try is a redfield revolution 4-12x40 accurange reticle. I have one on my. 22-250 and they are great at just under £300 it gives my old swarovski a run for its money.

Well iI had intended them on my 6.5 but after a few chats and odd pm, I think I will stick with my nikon pro staff, and put these mtc on the rimfire.

Avoid high mag, green/red reticule etc etc. (rubbish Nightforce lookalikes).

Airgun scopes are not really any good on centrefire rifles, but that said the 'high end' stuff available now is

pretty sound, BUT they are made for 40>60 yard PCP's @ 12ft/lbs.

A Hungarian Schmidt & Bender is hard to beat, but if you want to end up with a drawer full of 'crap' scopes

like me, go ahead, I now have high end Leupold's on all my rifles (x6).

I had the mamba when I had my hmr, left it on it when I sold it, although they have apparently been tested on 50 cal I like someone else said found it whites out really easy

Got them on my 6.5 …..thats whats stopping on, put the mtc on my rimfire……zeroed today excellent grouping, more than good enough for rimfire so thats were they stopping, got em cheap so no great loss

Yes I wouldn't put one on a cf, plenty good for a rimfire but if in doubt then don't bother I guess, some of the others you've mentioned are more to the liking especially for that calibre.
