dare 1,103
Anyone in kent hear the loud bang? Thought it may have been a car crash but not heard alot of them if any. Dad came downstairs and said it was too loud for that. Had a look on twitter and its been on lbc radio too, 2 qra jets it was. Also got on twitter from an account to do with the raf that a message was sent telling the plane to responde or it will be shot down. Plane was a Latvia commercial plane. Gotta love twitter lol so much better than reading what someone's ate for dinner on Facebook. Tell ya one thing war must be a f***ing scary thing just from the sounds alone. Must be some job flying planes in the army.

socks 32,253
Russian built Latvian plane escorted by typhoons into stanstead after heading towards London ... You would have heard the sonic boom as they were given permission to fly supersonic ..... It was a fault in the plane nothing sinister and has been cleared to carry on its journey ... I bet the pilot shit himself lol ........

dare 1,103
Lol whole house here shook. Mad to think how far the sound was heard for. In some ways I think its good publicity for the raf. Never hear much good about what we do or can do. I bet the amount of spying going on with the extremists and tactics being used are amazing, course well never know.
marshman 7,758
It's been heard through the whole county apparently in the local rag, they're testing something on the isle of Sheppey so the neighbour said lol , don't know what though ! Just read what socks said which would make sense Edited October 29, 2014 by marshman
Born Hunter 17,831
A subsonic tornado flying low sounds like the atmosphere tearing apart, I'd love to hear a typhoon supersonic! The air force use it as a non lethal tactic in battle.

Saying that, Notts had an earthquake last night and didn't feel that either. Lol We had a crack of lightening few months back that set car alarms off, but I'd love to hear a sonic jet. They do have a fixed wing aircraft called a Defender which is a twin engine turbo prop but as far as I know they don't operate any jet aircraft
